Heart-devouring love

They loved each other, and for a time, they were together; until one passed into the other world, and the other followed. The rite of entry was to stand bare at each of the seven gates, they surrendered all, piece by piece, until nothing remained.

Amidst the wild mountains and open plains, they coalesced bodies unclad, in naked embrace, entwined in the branches of trees. Hands intertwined, feet freed and dancing, like the gentle windswept limbs swaying in the breeze; and the world was desolate no more.

From the wildness of nature and the purity of their bodies, they drew inspiration, yearning for live the truest essence of love. In each moment, earth and flesh became one. Longing arose to reclaim what was lost, but the return lay beyond reach.
